I planted a crepe myrtle tree, and it seems like if its weak or dying. Am I watering too much or not enough?

I have a hunch that the answer is "too much;" people do tend to kill new plants with kindness, even though it's well-meant. Hold off on the watering a bit, and let it have the chance to get some air into the soil around the roots.
