There are a few places to inquire about seamstresses. Depending on the town you live in, look for a dry cleaner --- often they would be able to suggest someone for you. Another option if your town is a bit bigger is to inquire at a school that offers degrees in fashion design --- you could have many talented students to choose from who would love the opportunity for extra cash. Another option is to seek out department stores which offer tailoring services --- if the tailors/seamstresses in the store don't take on side-work, they may very well have some good people to refer you to from their experiences working in the industry. The last option for you to check into is your local fabric store. Often the people working in the stores have either great personal experience with sewing, or know someone who does.
