What is that screamo b sound?

I recently went to warped tour and there were numerous bands there that had this techno b-like sound. It almost sounded spacey or like a spaceship would sound. I've been all over for this sound or what bands have it in what songs but I cant find it at all. Most bands played it at the beginning of their songs, at the end, or when it was an instrumental part of the song.
