Is halo reach similar to halo ODST?

I hated the Halo ODST because the setting in the game is always dark and there is no public firefight matchmaking.. Also I hate playing as Spartan. I was wondering is Halo reach similar to HALO ODST, if it's then I am not going to buy it. Or is it similar to Halo 3? I loved Halo 3, it was the best halo game I played. If someone has the game already, can you confirm how 's the game like?
