How does this poem make you feel, what do you think it means?

My first impression is the poem is, in a sense, a guide for living a life of meaning, virtue and fulfillment. It offers simple wisdom, as if being spoken by an elder man to a young boy. When I read it I feel empowered, inspired, encouraged to follow my dreams and live a life full of unlimited possibilities.
